Welcome to The Federation of Chalvedon School and Sixth Form College and Barstable School. The Federation of Chalvedon School and Sixth Form College and Barstable School is in Basildon, Essex. The Federation was formed at the beginning of 2006 from two well established secondary schools serving the East Basildon Area. Chalvedon School and Sixth Form College is a Technology College and Leading Edge School. It acts as the host school for a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) organisation covering five schools in South Essex, Southend and Thurrock.   Chalvedon has over 1690 pupils and more than 280 students currently in the Sixth Form. Due to its strengths and commitment to a high standard of education the school is annually over subscribed. Barstable School is a Comprehensive School catering for students aged 11 - 16.   It is a sports hub for the area and is a fast improving school with good links to the local community and to its junior schools. Barstable also houses many child focused support agencies such as the Team around the School, Child and Community, the School Nurses, the Behaviour Improvement Partnership Team, the Coordinators for the Local Service Delivery Group and School Sports Partnership Team. In the latest Ofsted reports for both Schools, held in October 2006 and February 2007, the Federation has been praised for its outstanding leadership and for many areas of its work.
